MARTY WILLIAMSON NAMED HEAD COACH 

OF ONTARIO'S UNDER 17 TEAM

Toronto - The Ontario Under 17 Program Policy Committee is pleased to announce the appointment of Marty Williamson as the new Head Coach for Ontario's Under 17 Team.

Mr. Williamson is currently the head coach of the Barrie Colts of the Ontario Hockey League.

"I am extremely pleased that Marty has agreed to be Team Ontario's head coach, stated Mike Futa Director of Operations.  Marty brings a wealth of knowledge and leadership to the program and I know that everyone associated with the team will benefit from his appointment."

"I am very excited by the opportunity presented to me by the Under 17 Policy committee today and I look forward to the challenges that lie ahead for Team Ontario in the coming months" stated Mr. Williamson.

Team Ontario will be participating in the Under 17 World Hockey Challenge being held in Saskatoon Saskatchewan from December 29, 2005 until January 4, 2006.

The Ontario Under 17 Program is a component of Hockey Canada's Program of Excellence and is facilitated through the Hockey Development Centre for Ontario on behalf of their 3 Ontario Branches.   The program receives financial support from the Ontario Ministry of Tourism and Recreation .  In total, more than 1000 players will participate at regional Under 17 identification camps throughout Ontario this spring.
